INFORMATION ABOUT 24TH FAI WORLD HOT AIR BALLOON CHAMPIONSHIP MURSKA SBOTA 2022
The next World Hot Air Balloon Championship will take place 16-23 September 2022 in Murska Sobota, with central happening conducted at Murska Sobota Airport and castle Rakičan. The preparations for the world championship, however, are already under way. An introduction or dress rehearsal for the 2022 World Championship was held from 27 August to 1 September 2019 – this event served as a preliminary competition and the Slovenian Open National Hot Air Balloon Championship – Murska Sobota 2019. Another great event, despite restrictions due to CoVid19, happend in 2020 with Slovenian Open Hot Air Balloon Championship and for the first time in history of Slovenia we organized the take off of Gas Balloons.
The organisers of the Murska Sobota championship are Balonarski klub Roto balloon club, together with the City Municipality of Murska Sobota, Aeronautical Association of Slovenia and Aeroklub Murska Sobota.
Competition is open for all pilots who are members of their national aeronautical associations and are holding a valid FAI sporting license.
Registration will start on 16 September 2022.
